Saropack Group awarded as "climate-neutral company"

For several years now, Saropack has been recording, reducing and offsetting its corporate carbon footprint. It serves as the basis for continuous CO2 management. In 2020, the "climate-neutral sites" label was awarded to Saropack.

Now the climate protection foundation myclimate has also calculated the CO2 footprint of all products sold for Saropack. All emissions were calculated "cradle-to-gate" (including disposal of the products but excluding use by the customer). Saropack now knows the impact of the entire company, including all products sold, and is able to calculate the CO2 footprint per order, per product and quantity using an online calculator from myclimate.

With the SAROGREEN concept, Saropack has been helping customers optimize their film packaging and reduce its impact on the climate for years. Through detailed calculations, purchasing customers can now be increasingly involved in climate protection measures. Many customers actively support the climate protection commitment and buy climate-neutral products or participate in the corresponding CO2 compensation for their purchased products.

In doing so, Saropack supports regional and exclusively certified climate protection projects from myclimate. The projects for the protection of the high moors in the Alps, as well as the carbon offset project for the renaturation of the Königsmoor in Schleswig-Holstein enjoy special priority.

The offset contributions made for the Saropack organization and sites, as well as the contributions made by customers, will now be sufficient for Saropack to call itself a "climate-neutral company" for the first time as of November 2022.
