AP Packaging Papers—Could New Price Increases Follow Soon?

For AP corrugated base papers, it only became apparent in the course of September that price increases had already taken effect at the beginning of the month.
Paper mills had issued corresponding price increases in August for both brown AP packaging papers and white testliners. While a relatively clear price increase emerged for brown recycled papers in the EUWID discussions, the picture for white testliners is less uniform.
Despite the price increases that have just been implemented, given the ongoing cost pressures, sources in the paper industry indicated in mid-September that they are considering the possibility of making new price demands for brown papers in the near future. However, according to market sources, these considerations are still in the early stages.
