Astronaut made of corrugated cardboard lands in Switzerland

At the Swiss Space Association's space conference in Lucerne in October 2018, the larger-than-life, three-dimensional astronaut made of corrugated cardboard by Swiss design agency Layercake attracted all eyes.

Layercake obtains the corrugated cardboard - as the basic material for the figures, objects and spatial stagings - from the display and packaging manufacturer DS Smith.

The unusual design of the objects, which are available in all sizes and shapes, is impressive. The figures allow the brand they represent to be experienced directly. At trade fairs and events, they transport the message directly to the visitors and become a popular photo motif, just like the XXL astronaut at the Swiss Space Conference, which turned out to be a crowd magnet.
