Acquisition officially completed: Buchmann Karton is now officially part of the Weig Group

This makes Buchmann Karton part of Weig with retroactive effect from 1 January 2023. The two recycled carton manufacturers did not disclose the amount of the transaction, even upon request. For the future, it is planned to further develop Weig's cartonboard mills in Mayen and Buchmann's in Annweiler and to expand them in the medium to long term. Moritz J. Weig and Xaver Weig have been appointed as new managing directors of Buchmann Karton, according to the company. The previous managing partner Thomas Schätzle has left the Annweiler-based company.

Buchmann produces about 260,000 tonnes per year of recycled cartonboard for the European folding carton industry. The product portfolio includes GD, GT and liner. In addition to GD and GT, Weig Karton also produces gypsum board.
