News General news
The family-owned company DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE has reason to celebrate: it has been awarded the Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Award 2026 in the “Large Companies” category. The award was presented by Minister Grant Hendrik Tonne at the Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Day in Hanover.
The award recognises companies that successfully and sustainably develop their international business. For DREWSEN, this success is the result of continuous development over many years. Today, the company supplies its specialty papers to more than 70 countries and works closely with customers and partners worldwide.
“We are very pleased to receive this award and feel confirmed in our strategy to further increase our export share,” says CEO Amir Mirsakarimi. “This is not something achieved alone; it is the result of the daily work of our entire team.”
DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE has stood for paper production in Lachendorf since 1538. Today, its portfolio includes specialty papers for a wide range of applications – from security and technical papers to packaging papers. The company continues to expand its international activities and develop its portfolio, with a clear focus on specialisation, often in close collaboration with customers and development partners.
Despite its growing international presence, Lachendorf remains DREWSEN’s permanent home base. Around 500 employees work there – many of them for many years, in some cases across generations.
The Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Award has been presented since 2003. For DREWSEN, this recognition is both an honour and motivation to continue on its chosen path – reliable, grounded, and with a clear view to the future.
