EMPACK Dortmund: attendance trade fair postponed to 2022

The decision was not easy for the organizer: EMPACK and Logistics & Distribution, planned for May 19 and 20, 2021, will not take place and will be postponed to May 18 and 19, 2022. As an additional offer for the exchange, OnlineDays will already be held in May 2021, and next year the trade fair duo will not only be held in Dortmund, but also in Hamburg.

The reason for the postponement is the still uncertain pandemic situation. Project manager Maria Soloveva: "At this point in time, it is completely unclear when trade fairs, hotels and restaurants will be allowed to reopen - and whether the openings will then last until mid-May. But our customers and partners, especially the exhibitors, need planning security. We have therefore decided to postpone both trade fairs until May 18 and 19, 2022. Then, hopefully, the starting situation will be such that all the prerequisites for successful and secure regional industrial trade shows are in place."

OnlineDays offer digital networking
Maria Soloveva: "Exhibitors and potential visitors to our events are urgently waiting for the opportunity for personal exchange. As long as there are no face-to-face trade shows, we will offer additional online opportunities." That's why "OnlineDays" will be held as early as May 2021, moving solutions, innovations, inspiration and products from exhibitors and trade show partners to the desks of the community - whether in the office or home office.

The two regional trade shows will additionally take place in Hamburg next year. Maria Soloveva: "We are increasingly going where the markets and communities are. The Hamburg metropolitan region is one of Europe's leading logistics locations and home to many packaging companies. What the industry is still lacking at regional level is a business platform for personal exchange where suppliers and users can meet. We will close this gap."
Many exhibitors welcome the decision to return to Hamburg, such as Mr. Ragge, Managing Director of MPM Deutschland GmbH, which offers industrial impact protection: "Hamburg is a white spot on the intralogistics map and it's great news that this hub will have a business platform in the future."

New brand identity rounds off the overall package
From now on, EMPACK and Logistics & Distribution will appear in a new design that sharpens the identity of the two trade fair brands. This also makes it clear that these two trade fairs are much more than product and company presentations: They transport knowledge, provide inspiration, connect people, and serve as an important platform for industry experts.
