Demand remained stable with a slight increase during this period, according to discussions with EUWID. With the start of the second quarter, the more positive expectations for the market have pretty much disappeared. The EUWID interlocutors found clear words for the development in April: “terrible”, ‘catastrophic’ and “as if cut off”.
The industry had expected a year with a plus/minus zero on a sales basis for 2025. The players seem to be sticking to this forecast, but all companies point out that planning is hardly possible on a serious basis due to global unpredictability.
