As in September, German recovered paper imports in October were significantly below the previous year's level, according to data recently published by the Federal Statistical Office. Export trade also remains extremely weak.

According to Destatis, Germany imported 354,000 tonnes of "paper or paperboard for recovery" worth €77 million in October, according to preliminary figures. Compared to the two-year low in September, imports increased by 14 percent. Compared to the same month last year, however, there was a decline of 31 per cent.
