As the first Konica Minolta customer in Germany, Firus Druck is now producing with the new digital label printing system AccurioLabel 400. The family-run printing company from Kröv on the Moselle offers its steadily growing customer base, consisting of numerous wineries, wine estates and spirits producers from all over Germany and even Europe, a decisive competitive advantage: wine labels with wow effect for the best drops of the region. Thanks to high-quality printing with subsequent finishing, controlled by a digital workflow, Firus Druck will serve current customer requirements even faster and more impressively in future.

Firus Druck, a long-standing Konica Minolta customer, was the first customer in Germany to invest in the AccurioLabel 400 digital label printing system, which has been on the market since early 2023. "When we printed on the new system for the first time, it was immediately clear to us: we want to be the first to have this machine. With the new label system we can act even faster and more flexibly and offer our customers both short and medium as well as longer runs on even higher-quality papers with white printing in a high-quality and cost-effective manner. Looking at the technical specifications and taking a look at the total cost of ownership, the AccurioLabel 400 allows us to further extend our competitive advantages," says Sebastian Firus, managing director at Firus Druck. With print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute, the press ensures high productivity. In addition, the total length per job can be adjusted to up to 3,000 running metres, which greatly increases the capacity and speed of print production.

The family business specialises in the production and finishing of labels. After all, the bulk of the 500 or so customers are wineries that attach importance not only to a fine wine but also to eye-catching labels. Six years ago the young entrepreneur took over the print shop and in 2018 set it up for the future by investing in an AccurioLabel 190 and an AccurioLabel 230 as well as a wide range of finishing machines. In addition to wet-glue labels and high-quality business documents, Firus Druck has since been producing self-adhesive labels digitally according to individual customer requirements. A DC330 Mini from Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) is used for finishing, for example with gold foil. With the help of digital label printing, the Kröv plant produces effective, high-quality adhesive labels that attract the attention of buyers. With the new investment Firus Druck can now further expand its profile as an advertising effectiveness consultant and printing company in one.

Competitive for the printing company is its ability to produce exceptionally and eye-catchingly - for example with white toner. This is why the AccurioLabel 400 offers white as an optional 5th colour. In general, white toner is ideal for producing directly onto coloured media. In contrast to the usual font colour, white stands out more and leaves a much stronger impression. The AccurioLabel 400 also scores in terms of sustainability, which is increasingly in focus for customers. Thanks to the digital printing process and in conjunction with Konica Minolta Intelligent Quality Care, it is particularly fast to print, produces exactly as required and thus saves a great deal of paper and toner as well as energy, thereby generating a lower CO2 footprint.

"The decision for an AccurioLabel 400 is more than just an investment. It is part of a strategy that will last for years," says Mirko Pelzer, Offering Manager Professional Printing at Konica Minolta Germany. "We are delighted that Firus Druck has chosen the AccurioLabel 400. With our know-how and new technologies, we are working together to move towards the future and thus make Firus Druck's business successful in the long term."
