German paper core industry faces the coming months with increasing concern
News General news
So far in 2025, manufacturers of paper cores for the paper, film and textile industry have been confronted with predominantly difficult market conditions.

There have been few bright spots, while the downsides predominate, according to the Fachvereinigung Hartpapierwaren und Rundgefäße e.V. (FHR), Frankfurt am Main. The persistently sluggish economy in Germany, coupled with continued massive cost pressure, is exacerbating the growing concerns that companies have had for some time.
Raw materials and personnel are particularly affected, writes the industry association. For example, the sharp rise in waste paper prices in recent months has led to cost pressure on core board with a slight delay. However, the long-term effects of the ongoing economic downturn in Germany are far more serious.
This will enable us to identify opportunities at an early stage and work together to develop and produce effective, resource-efficient and environmentally friendly corrugated board products.”
