EUWID market report on cartonboard/folding cartons: Gray cartonboard manufacturers working at full capacity

Manufacturers of gray cartonboard continue to report good utilization of their machines. The delivery times for the grade, which is normally available within 10-14 days, are said to be 3-4 weeks at mills that EUWID has spoken to.
Against the background of good capacity utilization, the cartonboard mills are also more successful in passing on price increases than the manufacturers of GD cartonboard.
At least they were convinced in mid-May that part of the second announcement could still be implemented. At present, the market has received two letters with corresponding demands from May. As already reported, the high waste paper prices are a major reason for the demands.
Although it appears that the peak in waste paper prices has been reached, prices are at such a high level that even slight falls in the raw material would not provide any real relief.
