Forster succeeds Bernhard Reiling, who led the SME association for a total of 9 years. After nine years in office as bvse president, Bernhard Reiling has decided not to run again for the office of bvse president and to pass on the baton. As the new honorary president, however, Reiling will remain associated with the bvse's management bodies.

For Henry Forster, small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone and the future of the recycling and waste disposal industry.

"That this remains so is ensured not least by many committed and innovative entrepreneurs and their workforces, and that is ensured by the bvse as a powerful and expert federal association. That is my central concern and accordingly we will also align our work in the future", explained the newly elected bvse president in Marienfeld. He himself has been active in the waste management industry for a good 27 years in leading positions as technical plant manager, branch manager and managing director.

Henry Forster has earned an excellent reputation in the industry as a competent expert and businessman. In the bvse, he has been involved for many years on the board of the Paper Recycling Association, headed the Recycling Management Committee and, as treasurer, was a member of the bvse presidium and the overall board.

The 55-year-old Henry Forster is looking forward to the new challenge as president of the bvse. "We are facing a turning point in our times. Recycling is climate protection in action and a successful national economy can only have a future as a sustainable circular economy. The recycling, secondary raw materials and waste management industry can make a major contribution here," says Henry Forster, describing his motivation for the work of the coming years.
