Holmen merges Paper and Paperboard business areas into one division

Holmen Group has decided to merge the two business areas Paper and Paperboard into one division on the occasion of its financial results for 2023.

From now on, they will form the Paper & Board business area. Lars Lundin, who previously headed the Paper division, will now take over the management of the new business area.

The Holmen Group's results for 2023 were nowhere near those of the previous year. In almost all divisions, profits were in some cases significantly lower than in 2022, particularly in the divisions for cardboard and wood products. Holmen was nevertheless satisfied with the company's performance.

The Group's total earnings in 2023 amounted to skr 3.7 billion, more than a third less than in the previous year. EBITDA and operating profit also fell year-on-year by 29% and 37% to skr 6.1 billion and skr 4.8 billion respectively. Sales fell only slightly by 5% to skr 22.8 billion.
