Information on the Succession Plan at Freytag & Petersen
News General news
As part of the succession plan at Freytag & Petersen GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Cologne, a change in ownership is taking place. The previous sole shareholder, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Hugo Best, is transferring 100% of his shares to IGEPA Großhandel Beteiligungs GmbH. IGEPA Großhandel Beteiligungs GmbH is a joint subsidiary of the IGEPA partner companies.
As part of this succession plan, the equity interests in other IGEPA companies are also being reorganized. The equity interests previously held by Freytag & Petersen will be transferred to the four remaining IGEPA partner companies: 2H GmbH & Co. KG, vph GmbH & Co. KG, E. Michaelis & Co. Holding (GmbH & Co.) KG, and Geiger GmbH & Co. KG. This places the ownership structure within IGEPA on a sustainable long-term footing and ensures that managerial responsibility will be shared by the remaining partner companies in the future.
The new ownership structure secures the company’s regional presence while also creating a reliable foundation for its further development and even closer cooperation within IGEPA.
In the coming weeks and months, Freytag & Petersen GmbH & Co. KG and Igepa Großhandel GmbH & Co. KG will be gradually merged.
This involves aligning structures and processes, pooling existing strengths, and leveraging synergies. The goal is to safeguard our current performance capabilities while simultaneously laying the groundwork for successful joint growth.
The joint venture will be led by the current managing directors, Ralf Höllmann, Sven Kaufmann, and Dr. Ingo Osterheld. For customers, suppliers, and business partners, the familiar points of contact will remain unchanged.
We are confident that this succession plan has set the right course for the future. It combines continuity with clear and reliable ownership structures and strengthens IGEPA for its continued development.
