Job cuts at Perlen Papier paper mill

Swiss newsprint manufacturer Perlen Papier is adjusting its production costs in response to the ongoing challenging market situation.

Among other measures, the company plans to reduce its workforce, with around 65 job cuts deemed unavoidable. The company emphasizes that Perlen Papier will continue to produce with both paper machines and move forward into the future.

The realignment is intended to secure the future viability of the production site in Perlen and optimize the cost base in the long term.

Persistently weak demand for paper and further consolidation in the European paper market are creating a challenging market environment, explains the manufacturer of newsprint and LWC.
