Future-Oriented New Construction for Greater Growth—Klingele Invests in a New Logistics and Service Facility in Limburg

Klingele Paper & Packaging is expanding its presence in the Limburg region: With a larger logistics and service facility operated by Klingele Plus GmbH, the group is laying the groundwork for further growth, modern processes, greater sustainability, and security of supply. Construction began in April, and completion and the move from the current location in Villmar are scheduled for mid-2027.

On a site of approximately 25,000 square meters in Limburg-Staffel, about 6,000 square meters of operational space and approximately 1,200 square meters of office space are being built. Construction began in April 2026, and the facility is scheduled to become operational—and the previous location in Villmar-Aumenau to be phased out—in mid-2027. Work on the shell of the building is currently underway, following the completion of earthwork.

Key technical features of the new facility include a 17-meter-high high-bay warehouse and a fully automated conveyor system. With this, Klingele is laying the groundwork for more efficient processes at Klingele24—Klingele’s e-commerce platform for standard products and custom packaging solutions—and responding to the increased demands on logistics and infrastructure.

Sustainability as an Integral Part of the Investment
The new building meets the KfW-40 standard—a funding category established by KfW Bank—for exceptionally low energy consumption. It thus significantly exceeds the minimum legal requirements for energy efficiency and combines economic performance with responsible use of resources. The energy concept is complemented by large-scale photovoltaic systems. For Klingele, the facility thus represents another building block in a long-term investment strategy designed to secure and expand the company’s future viability.

“With this new facility, we are further expanding Klingele Plus’s operational capabilities at this location. New warehousing and material-handling technology, optimized material flows, and additional storage capacity enable us to respond more quickly to our customers’ needs. We are laying the groundwork for shorter response times, higher delivery availability, and more efficient order processing so that we can continue to support our customers reliably, flexibly, and with a high level of service quality in the future.” Andreas Krafft, COO of the Packaging Division at the Klingele Group

A Clear Commitment to the Limburg Location
With this new facility, Klingele reaffirms its commitment to the Limburg region. The previous location has been sold but will continue to be used until the new facility is completed. The new location will offer better transportation access—including good connections to public transit—more efficient logistics processes, and modern workspaces.

“With this investment, we are sending a clear signal of growth, stability, and reliability—especially in economically challenging times. At the same time, we are creating sustainable working conditions for our employees.” Dr. Jan Klingele, CEO of the Klingele Group
