Konica Minolta AccurioPress 6272P: Twice the speed, twice the productivity

With the AccurioPress 6272P, Konica Minolta introduces a digital production printing system for b/w printing that is particularly suitable for commercial printers, print service providers and central in-house printers that process high print volumes with mostly double-sided imaging.

Dual engine technology, capable of printing over 15,500 images per hour in an integrated production process, is at the heart of Konica Minolta's newly developed production printing system. The AccurioPress 6272P is the evolution of the proven AccurioPress 6136P, with two printing systems linked via the TD-502 tandem unit to double the benefits and meet the demands of today's high-volume black and white printing environments.

The unique combination offers double the speed and double the productivity, as well as uninterrupted printing without bottlenecks or downtime. Precise sheet registration and skew correction ensure high front-to-back accuracy. The optional IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Care unit ensures consistent and stable quality without additional operator control. Paper cooling, included as standard, allows the entire production to be processed offline immediately after printing.

The newly developed pass-through mode safeguards production in the rare event of a system failure by allowing the failed system to pass the printed sheets via the transport unit to the second printing unit, which then takes over the printing of both sides. Another benefit is that customers can use the TD-502 to upgrade their existing AccurioPress 6136P and increase productivity by doubling it to that of the AccurioPress 6272P.

Other features of the Konica Minolta AccurioPress 6272P include:

  • Suction system technology for smooth paper handling throughout the production process. For pre-printed and coated offset material, as well as under high humidity conditions, an optional heating unit for paper drying can be added as an additional upgrade.
  • The new generation of image processing technology (S.Efor advanced raster and image processing.
  • Simitri HD toner for highest image quality as well as pin sharp reproduction of text and line drawings.
  • Paper weights between 40 and 350 grams in formats up to 324x483mm.
  • A high-capacity stacking unit with trolley and multiple finishing options with third-party interface (e.g. Plockmatic and GBC).
  • Konica Minolta's proprietary controller technology and powerful software tools such as AccurioPro, which offer advanced functionality and full connectivity from print input to output.

"The Tandem unit combines years of knowledge and global expertise to ensure this system meets customer requirements in high-volume printing environments," explains Cord Hashemian, Portfolio Manager, Professional Printing Konica Minolta Business Solutions Germany & Austria. "The Konica Minolta AccurioPress 6272P will be another important pillar in our growing portfolio of production printing systems for our customers to maximise printing capabilities everywhere and adapt them to increased demands. "

Cord Hashemian adds, "This launch is also another example of how we are supporting the digital transformation of our customers' businesses by sector and industry, through advanced automation, less operator intervention and higher productivity with tangible impacts that result in increased, high-quality output with less waste."
