This was explained by a Leipa spokesperson in response to an enquiry from EUWID. The new production line has already been delivered. Assembly and connection are scheduled to take place by February next year. Following further acceptance tests, the coating and laminating unit should be available for regular production from 1 April 2024, according to the paper manufacturer's spokesperson.

The paper manufacturer announced the start of the project together with Italian machine manufacturer Nordmeccanica last summer. According to the information provided, the line used is a double-coating machine with laminating capability with a length of 33 metres.

In Schrobenhausen, Leipa also operates a cardboard machine designed for the production of grey cardboard. The Bavarian site is also home to the Flexibles division, which specialises in flexible packaging.
