EUWID market report on lightweight kraft paper: Sluggish order situation and pressure on prices
News General news
The balance sheet for the third quarter of the year so far in the market for lightweight kraft paper (40 g) is mixed.

At the time of research in early September, neither paper mills nor converters were satisfied with developments in July and August in discussions with EUWID.
Capacity utilization of paper machines in the DACH region and across Europe could have been significantly higher in recent weeks. There is also room for improvement in packaging production.
Many of our contacts at paper mills are concerned about the development of prices for brown and white MG kraft paper. In many places, prices for waste paper-based grades are also coming under pressure. In addition, there are increasing supply volumes for light MF kraft paper, which is putting additional pressure on higher-quality grades.
