Lucart has upgraded the solar power plant in Diecimo

The over 3 MWp solar power plant on the roof of the Lucart factory in Diecimo is starting operation. The installation resulting from the partnership between the multinational paper group and Enel X, the innovative global business line of the Enel Group, that was sealed last year to reduce climate-changing emissions from Lucart's production plants.

The Diecimo plant
The solar power plant in the Diecimo factory will generate over 3 GWh of green energy a year achieving a reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere equal to 1,160 tonnes per year. An expansion with the installation of a second system of about 3,800 photovoltaic modules, which will generate a total of 4.3 GWh/year, corresponding to about 4% of the annual needs of the factory, has been planned.

“With the renewable energy project started at the Diecimo plant, we have succeeded in making one of the largest private-owned power generating plants ever installed in Tuscany," said Massimo Pasquini, CEO of the Lucart Group. “The goal of Lucart is to be a role model in guiding the path to energy transition along the entire paper supply chain”.

Lucart is continuing on the path of energy efficiency and decarbonisation, which, in partnership with Enel X, will involve different aspects of the production chain. The installation of new solar power plants has been planned for the future with the creation of integrated solutions to promote the development of a sustainable industrial model in both economic and environmental terms.
