Less than two weeks after Metsä Board signed the purchase agreement for the Dutch cutting company The Winschoten Sheeting and Distribution Hub, the Finnish paperboard and kraftliner manufacturer announced the completion of the acquisition.

The purchase agreement was signed by both companies on January 23, 2026. On February 5, Metsä Board announced that it had completed the acquisition of Winschoten Sheeting from the Konvertia Group. The Finnish company will now begin integrating the plant into its European operations and aligning production, logistics, and customer service processes, Metsä Board explains. The Dutch cutting plant has an annual capacity of around 100,000 tons and currently employs 22 people.

Winschoten Sheeting previously belonged to the Konvertia Group, which, according to its own information, operates five service centers in Finland, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany, providing services for the cardboard and paper industry.
