Metsä Board issues profit warning for the second quarter of 2025
News General news
The Finnish paperboard manufacturer Metsä Board has announced that the operating result for the second quarter will be significantly more negative than forecast. A loss of around € 25 million is expected.

In its interim report published on April 29, 2025, the company estimated in advance that the company's operating result for the second quarter would be weaker than in the period from January to March, but that it would now be significantly lower.
The negative result was primarily influenced by the weak demand for market pulp in both Europe and China. The uncertainty caused by the US import tariffs also had a negative impact on the purchasing behavior of paperboard customers. As a result, Metsä Board has adjusted its paperboard production more closely to demand than originally planned.
