"The company and brand name should simply communicate clearly and internationally what it is all about. Otherwise, we will continue to rely on our comprehensive expertise in labels, adhesive tape converting and adhesive technology in order to enable a wide range of synergies for customers," says Niko Mundt - Managing Director of united 4 printing GmbH - explaining the strategy behind the new company. Moreover, with co-managing director Mario Stüwe, the company has brought on board an additional expert in label and packaging printing who is well-known in the industry.

The Ferrari of presses
As far as technology is concerned, it is worth noting that a Synchroline 430 has now come over the Alps from Brescia in northern Italy to Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate. This 8-colour flexo press from global manufacturer Lombardi, represented in Germany and Austria by Dortschy GmbH + Co KG of Bielefeld, is the first of its kind in Germany. Because it works with particular precision and is both smart and simple to use, it can be regarded as a technological spearhead of the printing industry. Its performance alone indicates which demand united 4 printing is targeting: Large label runs, as required by retailers and wholesalers for labelling a wide variety of products.

Flexibility as a specialisation
For example, fillers of hygiene and cosmetic products and food packaging are likely to be interested in this combination of high-quality printing and low-cost long runs. The same applies to marketers of white-label products or when labelling with variable text in different languages. Many other applications are conceivable, because flexo printing is basically flexible for paper, cardboard, plastics, composite materials or self-adhesive films.
