In the coming months there will be a steady and coordinated handover to ensure a good induction.

Dr Thorsten Voß brings know-how and experience from his previous career as a science manager with him for successful board work at PTS. Since 1 July 2017, he has been Managing Director of the VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH (BFI), in which capacity he is responsible for the administrative and commercial affairs of the institute.

Dr Voß studied agricultural sciences at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Universität Bonn and did his doctorate on the degradation behaviour of pesticides in aquifers as part of an industrial cooperation at the Forschungszentrum Jülich. After post-doctoral work at Forschungszentrum Jülich, he moved to the Centre's management in 2007, first as personal assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, later as Head of the Board Office. In this function, he was responsible for the areas of committees, international affairs, and knowledge & information management until he was appointed authorised signatory and took over the management of the business unit "Third-party Funding and Technology Transfer".

"With Dr. Voß, we have been able to win over exactly the candidate we were looking for. With his background in research and many years of experience in a non-profit institution, the change in the Executive Board will go off without a hitch," commented Dr. Stefan Karrer, Chairman of the Foundation Board, on the personnel decision.

After the introduction of Dr Thorsten Voß to the PTS staff last week, a steady and coordinated handover and induction will take place in the coming months.
