With Smarties, lovers:inside of the colorful chocolate lentils can dive into the world of the oceans - all from the comfort of their own home. The iconic confectionery brand is offering the "Smart Seas" special edition for ocean fans in the period from July to August 2021. The packaging of the limited-edition varieties thematically picks up on the world of sea creatures with four different designs.

For the diving tour, explorers have to scan the QR code, which can be found on all limited-edition varieties during the promotional period. With the help of an augmented reality function, the cell phone camera merges the virtual world with the real world and brings marine animals to life in your own four walls. In this way, inquisitive people can playfully learn more about different ocean dwellers. The newly acquired knowledge can be tested in a quiz.

Smarties in a new bag format complement the special edition
Right on time for the start of the "Smart Seas" promotion, those with a sweet tooth will find a new format on the shelves. During the campaign period, the colorful chocolate lentils are also available in stand-up pouches. Like the entire range, the new product variant is wrapped in recyclable paper packaging. Like any newsprint, the paper can be disposed of in the waste paper garbage can.

Smarties "Smart Seas" in a stand-up pouch contains 240 grams of chocolate lentils. The recommended retail price is 2.89 euros.

Nutri-Score on all Smarties products
From now on, the Nutri-Score will appear on the front of the packaging of all Smarties varieties. The first products in Nestlé's confectionery range to carry the extended nutritional labeling are already Choco Crossies, Choclait Chips, Lion and KitKat. Over the course of the year, many more brands and products from the confectionery range will display the label.
