However, they were supported in the fourth quarter of the year by insurance payments following the landslide at the Saugbrugs paper mill and the sale of the Tasman mill in Australia. The annual results show significant declines in EBITDA (2023: nkr 2.14 billion / 2022: nkr 3.11 billion), operating profit (nkr 896 million / nkr 2.85 billion) and sales (nkr 13.52 billion / nkr 15.21 billion).

Meanwhile, the future of the damaged PM 6 at the Saugbrugs mill remains open. The company has stated that the paper machine will remain out of operation for the whole of 2024. Options for future production operations at the Saugbrugs plant will continue to be explored, explained Norske Skog.
