The brand founders and their goals
Notpla, short for "not plastic", is a young, innovative brand created in 2019 by a team of designers, chemists, engineers and entrepreneurs who are committed to fighting single-use plastic. In 2022, they were the proud winners of the coveted Earthshot Prize in the "Build a waste-free world" category. Their aim is to leave nothing behind with advanced packaging made from seaweed and other plant materials that disappear naturally. Part of this innovative development is the Notpla paper of the same name.

Sustainably good
Seaweed, one of nature's most powerful renewable resources, is abundant globally and grows rapidly without the need for fresh water, land or fertiliser. The inconspicuous seaweed is one of the most effective weapons against climate change, as it reduces ocean acidification and effectively absorbs carbon.

Versatile in use
Notpla is available in weights of 140 g/m2, 280 g/m2 and 350 g/m2; it is free from synthetic additives, recyclable and biodegradable. This natural paper is visually unique, tactilely appealing, fully printable and easy to process. From premium packaging and high-quality brochures to exceptional business cards, Notpla adds character and elegance to any design.
