Peters Group closes Cartonia Wellpappen at the end of September

The planned strengthening of the six plants also means the end of the subsidiary Cartonia Wellpappen GmbH, based in Breitscheid. The closure is scheduled for the end of September 2025. 75 employees are affected by the decision.

“This is a business decision that was not easy for us,” emphasizes Roman Peters, shareholder of the Peters Group. “Over the past few months, we have thoroughly analyzed all economic options together with the management and external consultants and examined alternatives to closure,” says Peters. “Unfortunately, given the current market and location conditions, we do not see any way of continuing the business in the long term in an economically positive manner.”

The orders manufactured in Breitscheid are to be produced at other Group sites in future.
