Saica starts construction of a new corrugated board plant in Barcelona

Work has begun on the Saica Group's new corrugated board plant in Barcelona, which is scheduled to open in spring 2025. The plans for the project, which involves an investment of more than 100 million euros, were announced in the summer.
Located in the municipality of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, the plant will bring together the work currently carried out at Saica Pack El Prat and Saica Pack Barcelona and is expected to increase the current combined production of the two factories by up to 45%. The new plant will be equipped with the latest technology and will seamlessly combine flexo and offset printing processes.
Saica Group CEO, Ramón Alejandro, emphasised that "this investment will allow us to have the latest digital technology. We will be able to increase our production capacity and also improve the service we provide to our customers".
