Demand for newsprint and LWC has been steadily declining for years, according to a statement. At the same time, conditions in the European paper market remain challenging. According to a press release, the company also expects the market environment to remain challenging in 2026. Consolidation in the paper market is expected to continue, as is pressure on prices and volumes. “Our focus remains on increasing profitability, developing new products and business areas, and consistent cost control. At the same time, we will continue to exploit the potential of the industrial site. The transformation of Perlen Industrieholding AG is geared toward continuity and sustainable success. We are convinced that we have defined the right path and will continue to follow it with determination,” says Dr. Florian Geiger, CEO of Perlen Industrieholding AG and Perlen Papier AG.

Transformation for Sustainable Business Development Initiated
The unfavorable trends in the graphic papers market reinforced the company’s commitment to its transformation strategy. By “restructuring,” Perlen also refers to the continued operation of both paper machines at what it describes as one of Europe’s most modern paper mills. The paper manufacturer emphasizes the need to further strengthen competitiveness in newsprint and magazine paper. This segment remains a central pillar of Perlen’s strategy.
