UPM confirmed that UPM Pulp, UPM Timber, UPM Communication Papers, UPM Biofuels and the Lappeenranta bio-refinery will be able to implement zero short-time work for a total of 90 days until the middle of the year. This applies to all UPM's pulp mills, sawmills and printing and writing paper mills in Finland. The short-time work can be imposed individually or at intervals.

In an earlier announcement, UPM had stated that zero short-time working could affect around 780 employees at UPM's Finnish pulp mills, around 235 at the Finnish sawmills, around 1,100 at the Communication Papers division and around 90 at the Lappeenranta bio-refinery.
