Folding carton: Van Genechten Packaging invests in capacity expansion in Riga
News General news
Van Genechten Packaging (VGP) has announced an expansion program to increase capacity at its Latvian folding carton plant VG Kvadra Pak in Riga.

The folding carton manufacturer plans to invest a total of €10 million and at the same time strengthen its position in the Baltic and Nordic markets, VGP explained in a statement in mid-May. The plans include the construction of a new folding carton plant, which is to be built directly next to the existing production site in Riga.
The expansion project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Production is set to start shortly afterwards, the packaging manufacturer explains. VGP plans to use the new plant to primarily serve customers from the premium packaging sector - namely from the confectionery, beauty and cosmetics segments.
