Conversion project aims, among other things, to expand production of kraftliner substitute paper
At the Vreden paper mill, a manufacturer of corrugated base paper, machine manufacturer Bellmer has installed a new headbox for the PM 3 paper machine, thereby expanding the production of kraftliner substitute paper.
The project focused on the construction of a new headbox section for the machine and the installation of a new headbox from Bellmer. According to a statement from the machine manufacturer, the aim of the project was to improve quality and expand production to include kraftliner substitute paper.
With the new headbox, the Vreden paper mill now has a total of four units – one each on the head and tail end of its two paper machines. The conversion of PM 3 went according to plan. Shortly after commissioning, paper quality was already improved, according to Bellmer.
According to its own information, the Vreden paper mill produces corrugated base paper from waste paper on two paper machines.
