Cartiere Carrara plans new tissue plant in Italy

The Italian integrated tissue products manufacturer Cartiere Carrara is planning to build a new tissue plant in Pisticci in southern Italy.
The Basilicata region announced in a press release that the Consorzio per lo Sviluppo Industriale della Provincia di Matera (Industrial Development Consortium of the Province of Matera) had signed an agreement with Cartiere Carrara to cede a site within the Valbasento industrial area in Pisticci to the company.
The site will reportedly cover a total area of 136,000 square meters. According to the Basilica Region, Cartiere Carrara intends to build an integrated plant there that will produce tissue paper and convert it into tissue products on site.
Cartiere Carrara describes itself as one of the leading tissue manufacturers in Italy and Europe. The company has 7 plants and operates a total of 10 tissue paper machines and 60 converting lines there.
