Personalized 4711 Packaging Makes the Finals of the 2026 Druck&Medien Awards

With a special packaging project for Mäurer & Wirtz and the long-established brand 4711, colordruck Baiersbronn is among the finalists for the 2026 Druck&Medien Awards. In the category “Most Innovative Online Printer of the Year,” a custom-personalized packaging solution produced via digital printing won over the judges.
The Druck&Medien Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the German printing and media industry. Each year, they honor companies and projects that stand out for their quality, innovation, and unique solutions. After securing three finalist spots last year, colordruck Baiersbronn is once again on the shortlist for 2026.
Personalization Meets a Traditional Brand
At the heart of this year’s submission is a Christmas campaign by Mäurer & Wirtz for the traditional brand 4711. As part of the campaign, customers could order personalized gift sets consisting of perfume and a slipcase, with the recipient’s name printed directly on the slipcase.
Customers could enter a name for their perfume box via a landing page. We then produced each box individually using digital printing—on demand, without holding inventory, and within five business days. This transformed the well-known, traditional 4711 product into a personalized Christmas gift. An uncoated back panel also provided space for handwritten greetings.
Finalist Among Five Companies
With the implementation of this project, we’ve made it into the top five finalists in the “Most Innovative Online Printer of the Year” category.
Our final ranking will be determined in October at the 2026 Druck&Medien Awards ceremony in Berlin. Just making it to the finals is a great achievement for the entire project team. Now it’s time to keep our fingers crossed!
