Dr. Marc Sesterhenn becomes Chief Operating Officer at Progroup

Dr. Marc Sesterhenn (50) joined the Board of Progroup, the containerboard and corrugated sheetboard manufacturer, as Chief Operating Officer on 1 October 2023. He will be responsible for operating and developing the family company's production sites as well as supply chain management.

“In appointing Dr. Sesterhenn, we’ve managed to recruit a highly experienced expert to join Progroup. We were very impressed by his expertise in managing operations at international companies. Sesterhenn will join Maximilian Heindl and Dr. Volker Metz (CFO) in continuing to drive forward the company's focus on being futureproof and in particular expand the company's technological leadership. He stresses: “Progroup is renowned for innovation, growth and sustainability. I’m really looking forward to getting to know my colleagues at each individual location, firmly establishing technological and cost leadership at each site and developing the company to benefit both customers and employees.”

Sesterhenn holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and has worked in executive roles for around 20 years. His most recent role was Managing Director of Operations at Rittal, the enclosure and system specialist. He has also worked at Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, where he was Executive Vice President of Operations and a member of the Board of Management. Since 2003, he has held various management positions at MAN Truck & Bus; from 2012 to 2016 he was the production director at MAN Truck & Bus Österreich AG.
