DS Smith is currently negotiating with employee representatives regarding the planned discontinuation of paper production at the Belišće paper mill. “Discussions regarding the planned closure, the schedule, and support measures for employees are currently underway and will be discussed with employee representatives during the statutory period,” DS Smith announced.

The Belišće paper mill is the company's only paper site in Croatia. DS Smith operates two paper machines at the plant for the production of corrugated base paper from recycled paper with a capacity of 250,000 tons.

At the same time, DS Smith has approved an investment of €15 million to expand and modernize its packaging activities at the site. The investment is intended to strengthen the company's relationships with existing customers and attract new potential customers in the region.
