Does everything have to be printed out?

We live in a time of scarce resources. Unfortunately, this also applies to the paper industry. Saving is the motto here, too. However, not all areas can do without paper.

And often the pulp is a product that is ideally suited as an alternative for other materials. As a rule, paper packaging is more environmentally friendly than plastic packaging.

Print only when necessary

A great blessing of the modern age is digital printing technology. In the industry, the method of only printing what is really necessary has become widely accepted. Products created using the print-on-demand process are produced on demand. Even the production of individual parts or very small runs is possible without any problems. These can be textiles, books, mugs or even brochures. Production on demand avoids overproduction and thus conserves resources. When an order is received or the exact demand is known in advance, the products are printed. Many authors in particular appreciate this option. They are increasingly offering their works in self-publishing and book-on-demand. This considerably reduces the financial risk of too many books being printed and not sold. T-shirts for club use can also be ordered in exactly the right size and quantity. Another way to produce printed matter individually and in line with requirements is to use a stamp.

The stamp shop stempelfactory.de offers a wide range of models with all kinds of motifs for various occasions. The stamps are suitable for printing greeting cards and invitations, for example. The stamps can also be used very well for commercial purposes, for example for affixing the date of manufacture and best-before date to packaging. Combining a stamp with paper packaging is one of the most environmentally friendly alternatives. The use of the material cannot be completely avoided, because packaging will probably be indispensable in the future. For hygienic and practical reasons alone, packaging can hardly be eliminated without replacement in many areas.

Minimalism for the environment

In terms of energy efficiency, less is more. The best way to pack things is to use as little packaging material as possible. Paper in particular often proves to be particularly advantageous, also because it can be easily recycled. Here it is important to choose small packaging. Furthermore, the design also plays a role, because printing ink and varnish have an additional impact on the environment. Often it is not even necessary to print large areas on the entire packaging. As a rule, a partial area with the corporate design, the brand, the product name and the contents information is sufficient. A small but finely designed sticker often makes more of a statement than a large-scale print. An attractive stamp can also be worthwhile. This makes it possible to buy a larger number of packages and then label them individually. Alternatively, choose an environmentally friendly water-based ink for the print and do without additional glitter and high gloss.

The bottom line is that printing is often the only way to go. No matter how hard you try, people still need packaging material as well as printed paper products. Nevertheless, it is possible to save material and thus conserve resources. The print-on-demand process and the use of stamps, for example, help here.
