Tissue: Fasana GmbH's search for investors threatens to fail
News General news
Hygiene paper manufacturer Fasana GmbH is looking for investors. However, this search is now threatening to fail due to price differences.
Fasana GmbH, a napkin manufacturer with over 100 years of company history, has recently been struggling with high energy costs. A cyberattack in May further exacerbated Fasana's situation and forced the company to file for insolvency proceedings. On October 1, 2025, the Bonn District Court finally imposed insolvency proceedings on the company's assets due to its insolvency and over-indebtedness and appointed Dr. Dirk Wegener (dhpg) as insolvency administrator.
However, according to a report by WDR, the search for investors is now in danger of failing. The reason for this is the owner's asking price for the property, which is said to be three times the value of the land. “Potential buyers are therefore unwilling to take over the business. Unless a miracle happens soon, the lights will go out here at the Stotzheim site,” says insolvency administrator Dirk Wegener.
Fasana most recently employed 250 people and, according to its own figures, produced around 1.5 billion napkins annually with its own paper machine and 15 converting lines. Fasana GmbH was taken over by Powerparc AG just this spring.
