Fatal Accident in Punching Machine: 47-Year-Old Dies in Ansbach Paper Processing Plant

In the night of 07/11/2025, a tragic industrial accident occurred at a paper processing plant in the Brodswinden district of Ansbach, Germany. A 47-year-old employee lost his life after getting caught in a punching machine.
The Accident
Around 00:10 AM, the man was working on a punching machine at the facility on Robert-Bosch-Strasse. For reasons still under investigation, he became caught in the machine and was trapped. The enormous pressure of the punching machine caused severe injuries to which the worker succumbed at the scene.
Emergency responders from the fire department recovered the victim from the machine. However, all help came too late for the 47-year-old - he died at the accident site. Rescue attempts were unsuccessful as the massive injuries caused by the pressure of the industrial punching machine were immediately fatal.
Investigation into the Cause of the Accident
The Ansbach Police Department documented the incident, while the Criminal Investigation Service of Middle Franconia initiated preliminary investigations, including comprehensive evidence collection. The focus of the investigation was the reconstruction of the exact sequence of events.
Psychological Support for Colleagues
During the recovery operations, the Psychosocial Emergency Care team of Middle Franconia provided support to several employees of the paper processing plant who had witnessed the accident. The shock among colleagues was significant, which is why psychological assistance was immediately available on site.
Punching machines are among the central production equipment in paper processing but pose considerable dangers if safety regulations are not followed or technical failures occur.
