The GEMÜ Group mourns the death of Fritz Müller.
After training as a precision mechanic and successfully completing his studies at the precision engineering school in Schwenningen in 1961, Fritz Müller gained his first professional experience in the testing department of Herion-Werke KG in Stuttgart. Just a few years later, the visionary and tinkerer Fritz Müller founded the GEMÜ company.
The start of the young company was characterized by questioning the existing. At a time when valves were made exclusively of metal, he initiated a paradigm shift in the world of valves with his idea of manufacturing valves from plastic. Success proved Fritz Müller right. As early as 1965, the first company premises were built in Ingelfingen-Criesbach, which was successively expanded as GEMÜ continued to grow in the years that followed - both nationally and internationally. Today, the GEMÜ Group employs more than 2,100 people worldwide, around 1,200 of whom work at the German sites in Criesbach, Waldzimmern and the Hohenlohe Industrial Park.

With his ideas and drive, driven by the desire to think things through in a new way, Fritz Müller shaped GEMÜ and created the basis for what GEMÜ is today. He was an "old-school boss" whom many employees still knew personally. Even though Fritz Müller handed over his life's work to the next generation in 2013 and withdrew from the operational business, he always remained closely associated with GEMÜ.

Fritz Müller also left many traces in his hometown of Ingelfingen. Not only the vineyards and the Ingelfingen barrel, but also numerous buildings bear witness to his deep ties to his homeland. With the Torwächterhaus in Ingelfingen and the Villa Schüssler in Künzelsau, for example, Fritz Müller has preserved very special buildings with centuries of history. Fritz Müller also donated a very special monument to the town of Niedernhall in the form of the Salzsiederbrunnen fountain in 2012.

Fritz Müller has been honored several times for his entrepreneurial and social commitment and was a recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, a recipient of the Economic Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg as well as an honorary citizen of the town of Ingelfingen.

On 1 December 2021, Fritz Müller's life circle came to a close. The GEMÜ Group and all employees will always honor his memory.
