Horizon continues to expand its portfolio of network-ready solutions and is integrating the proven 9-clamp adhesive binder SB-09 and the variable three-knife fully automatic trimmer HT-1000 into its successful iCE series.
The new iCE Binder SB-09R and iCE Trimmer HT-1000R come factory-configured for connection to the cloud-based workflow service iCE LiNK and can thus be integrated into a fully automated workflow from prepress through finishing. In addition, they enable real-time monitoring, analysis, and visualization, thereby facilitating more efficient production processes. Both systems can be flexibly configured for digital, offset, and hybrid applications. They feature a redesigned, modern machine design and have been optimized for ease of use and maintenance. These enhancements include a large 15-inch touchscreen with an intuitive user interface, an enlarged viewing area, and integrated LED lighting for a better view of the interior and production processes.
The newly designed iCE Binder SB-09R achieves up to 4,000 cycles per hour. Changeovers are performed by entering dimensions on the touchscreen or using the optional dimension gauge, which easily captures all dimensions of the book block and cover and transmits them to the machine. Thanks to the continuously reloadable cover feeder, true non-stop operation is possible.
The iCE Trimmer HT-1000R cuts each book to its individual size at up to 1,000 cycles per hour—without compromising on speed. To increase productivity, multiple books can be cut in a stack. Ideal for single-book production: Unattended, automatic “on-the-fly” adjustment is possible using an optional barcode reader.
