Italy: Calm Prevails in the Corrugated Base Paper Market in June

Although the market for corrugated board and corrugated base paper should be in its peak season in June and looking ahead to July, there are repeated reports from the corrugated board industry of insufficient capacity utilization and suspended work shifts. On the other hand, paper production continues unabated. This ensures a consistently good supply of recycled-paper-based grades.

For recycled papers, following the price increases in April and May for June deliveries, some paper mills attempted to raise prices for June deliveries as part of a new price increase announcement. One supplier explained that the announcements were made too late and, overall, were too few in number.
