ProJet will deliver an undisclosed number of Dryer Fabric Cleaners and Press Felt Cleaners to Natron-Hayat in Maglaj, Bosnia-Hercegovina. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Hayat’s PM4 produces Liner and Fluting, using 100% OCC. OCC is known for its extreme contamination on the Dryer Section, which is exactly the reason that Natron-Hayat chose ProJet. The equipment is scheduled to be delivered in Q2, ‘22 and installation & start-up later in 2022. Unique about this order is that the Power Cleaner will be ProJet’s Power Cleaner 2.0, the upgraded version. The upgrade consists of a smaller cleaner head, more nozzles at higher pressure and improved vacuum/discharge system. The combination of all these improvements is an increased cleaning efficiency, exactly what Natron-Hayat needed for its Dryer Fabrics.

ProCleaners for Press Felts:

A clean Press Felt, with consistently high permeability and dewatering capabilities, delivers important productivity and performance advantages. Better dewatering in the Press Section leads substantial improvement in dryness level when the sheet leaves the Press Section. Press Felts loose dewatering ability due to the increasing use of secondary fibres, recycling of coated broke, increasing use of sheet fillers, an increased use of recycled mill water supplies, and the increased use of process chemicals. The ProJet system consumes very little water, compressed air, and very little electrical energy.

Advantages of a ProCleaner system over a conventional shower:

The ProCleaner for Press Felt uses a single oscillating cleaning head that traverses back and forth over the entire felt width. This provides important advantages over a conventional shower:

  • Much lower water consumption, up to 95%
  • Strip cleaning, zone cleaning and edge cleaning
  • No more dirty streaks caused by plugged nozzles, because all nozzles cover the entire fabric width, instead of only one nozzle covering a certain area
  • Different nozzle angles: enhanced cleaning
  • Park position outside machine: possible nozzle change during production & automatic self cleaning

Power Cleaners for Dryer Fabrics

The Power Cleaner cleans the Dryer Fabrics continuously, 24 hours a day, as long as the machine is running. Older technologies are operated in batch cleaning mode, allowing the dryer fabrics to get dirty first, loosing permeability, and then trying to restore that permeability again. This leads to uneven permeability profiles over time, mostly leading to paper quality issues and more broke. The advantage of continuous cleaning are a more stable moisture profile, less broke and longer lifetime of fabrics. Dryer fabric contamination is on the rise due to the increasing use of secondary fibers, recycling of coated broke, increasing use of sheet fillers, an increased use of recycled mill water supplies, and the increased use of process chemicals.
