Corrugated base paper: Laakirchen postpones start of production again

The Heinzel Group subsidiary confirmed this to EUWID. Contrary to earlier plans, Laakirchen Papier AG will continue the production of SC paper until the end of 2024.

Laakirchen Papier had already postponed the original date for the PM 11 rebuild once before: In September last year, the paper manufacturer announced that the start of production of recovered paper-based corrugated base paper at the plant in the Austrian paper mill would be postponed by six months to September 2024. The start has now been postponed again. According to the company, the machine parts for the conversion of PM 11 to containerboard are already being delivered, and assembly will take place at the beginning of 2025 with subsequent commissioning.
