Le Bourray plans to expand production with new tissue machine

French hygiene paper manufacturer Papeterie Le Bourray SAS is investing in a new tissue machine for its paper mill in Saint-Mars-la-Brière.

The investment amounts to €25 million. According to the company, installation of the machine is set to begin in the coming weeks. It should be operational by the fourth quarter of 2026 at the latest, it added. The aim of the investment is to diversify the product range and strengthen the company's position in the French hygiene paper market. The purchase of the new tissue machine is expected to create 30 new jobs at the company.
Le Bourray is part of the Stepak Bourdin Group and employs around 130 people. According to its own information, the paper mill produces around 25,000 tons of tissue parent rolls annually. In 2024, Le Bourray achieved a turnover of €44 million.
