Magalog - advertising and content in one

A magalog is an advertising copy of a magazine, usually in the form of a 12-page catalogue. Magalog is a portmanteau of "magazine" and "catalogue" and was coined and used by Gary Bencivenga, an advertising writer.

Magalogs help to introduce magazines to new readers or act as a catalogue in magazine format. An alternative use could be catalogues that contain not only advertising but also content.

Magalogs are also used in other industries and have proven successful in the sale of nutritional supplements, books, information products and sporting goods. The size of magalogs generally varies between 8 and 64 pages. The results of magalogs are measured precisely in order to determine the ROI of the mailing.

Magalogs are structured in such a way that they use the most interesting material, i.e. the "hook", to arouse the reader's interest. They can also contain discount promotions or gifts for the reader. They are designed to generate great excitement and positive prospects for a brand.
