Metsä Tissue: Production at the Kreuzau mill started again

On 08/28/2022 at 08:15 a fire broke out at Metsä Tissue's Kreuzau mill in the area of the steam power plant. Firefighting efforts by the fire brigade lasted until late in the evening.

The fire did not spread to other buildings and no one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The areas damaged by the fire are currently being repaired, and this work is expected to be completed by the weekend.
In the late evening of August 28, 2022, production was restarted on a limited basis and since August 30, 2022, production at the Kreuzau plant has been back in full swing.
The extent of the damage cannot yet be conclusively quantified.
