The Swiss Peyer Group, based in Zug, is acquiring Walke AG in Herisau.

The transaction took effect in January 2026. According to Peyer, this move will strengthen the internationally active group's expertise in the areas of packaging, specialty papers, and finishing. No details were provided regarding the value of the transaction.

Walke has been manufacturing paper and cardboard for over 150 years. Today, the company produces specialty papers for the machinery, packaging, and food industries. These are finished with hot melt, paraffin, silicone, or polymer coatings.

Operational management will remain with the company, and employees will also be retained.
