Climate Protection Targets Validated by SBTi

In addition to its short- and medium-term climate goals, STI Group has committed to the long-term objective of achieving net-zero emissions. These ambitious targets have now been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Through investments in energy efficiency, renewable electricity from solar and wind power, and a consistent focus on improving the recyclability of packaging, STI Group ranks among the most committed players in climate protection within the packaging industry. By joining the SBTi in 2023, we pledged to drive the sustainable transformation of our entire business operations.
Driving Climate Action Forward
Sustainability is a core part of our strategy, and we pursue our climate goals with the highest level of commitment, transparency, and impact.
Following the installation of solar systems at our Alsfeld and Lauterbach production sites in 2023 and 2024, STI Group is now investing approximately €1.2 million in a 1.85 megawatt-peak (MWp) photovoltaic system at our facility in Kecskemét, Hungary. One of the largest folding carton producers in Eastern Europe, the site will begin covering a large share of its electricity needs with self-generated solar power as early as August 2025.
